5 Things With Anna: 5 Live Saving Hacks
Today, we’ve got something special for all the moms out there – 5 life-saving hacks I’ve tried and tested myself!
1. Ice Cube Trick For Ironing
Don’t have time to iron those wrinkly clothes? I loathe ironing but I love looking “put together.” Most often I’ll use a garment steamer instead of an iron but have you heard of the ice cube trick!? Toss a couple of ice cubes into your *dryer* with the wrinkled garments. Set it on ‘high heat’ for a few minutes and the steam created will help remove the wrinkles with minimal effort.
2. Magnetic Strips To Organize Bobby Pins
Do you keep losing bobby pins? Or perhaps they running wild and clogging your drawers? Try sticking a magnetic strip on the inside of your bathroom cabinet. It’s the perfect place to make bobby pins, tweezers, and other small metallic items easily accessible. I also keep my 3 year old daughter’s hair-bows clipped on a long ribbon so they are easy to see when trying to find the perfect color to match her outfit everyday.
3. Frozen Sponge As An Ice Pack
Make a DIY ice pack by freezing a sponge soaked in water inside a ziplock bag. It’s less messy as it absorbs the meltwater, perfect for your little ones’ boo-boos… and even keeping lunches or snacks cool.
Oh! And as slightly frazzled mom myself who just hit the big 4-0. I also sometimes put a frozen sponge on my face in the morning to wake-up before I put my TV make-up on! It’s great for de-puffing.
4. Shoe Organizer For Pantry Snacks
Over-the-door shoe organizers are not just for shoes! Hang one in your pantry or kitchen to store snacks, freeing up space and keeping things organized.
5. Hair Dryer to Remove Crayon Marks
Have your kids ever left crayon marks on the wall? Use a hair dryer to heat the crayons until they’re slightly melted, then easily wipe the marks away with a damp cloth. I hope these hacks make your day just a bit easier and give you that extra time to enjoy with your family.
