5 Things With Anna: Five Foods You Can Use For DIY Hair Masks

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Bahakel Entertainment’s Anna Kooiman breaks down the five foods you can use for DIY hair masks in this episode of “5 Things With Anna.” Try them by putting them on damp hair and letting them sit for about 20 minutes before rinsing.

1. Avocado

Did you know avocado also works wonders for your hair? Its natural oils act as a moisturizer which is perfect for brittle hair during the winter. You can create your own mask by blending half an avocado with two tablespoons of olive oil and a few drops of honey.

2. Coconut Oil

Not only does it have a pleasant smell, but it’s also great for your hair. During winter, the cold weather can strip your hair of its natural oils, leaving it dry and prone to breakage. Coconut oil can help replenish those lost oils and seal the hair cuticles to prevent further damage. Simply warm up a few tablespoons of coconut oil and apply it to your hair from roots to tips.

3. Eggs

Did you know eggs can nourish and strengthen your hair? Eggs are rich in protein, which is essential for healthy hair growth. You can create a simple DIY hair mask by mixing two eggs with a few tablespoons of olive oil and applying it to your scalp and hair.

4. Honey

It’s known for its moisturizing properties and can help combat frizziness and dryness during the winter months. Try mixing it with your usual conditioner to create a mask.

5. Bananas

Bananas contain potassium, which helps strengthen hair strands and prevent breakage. You can create a nourishing hair mask by blending a ripe banana with some honey and olive oil.
